Proper Mag #10

Proper Magazine originally started out as a fanzine in Stockport. However, each Issue is getting more and more professional, and Issue 10 is no exception. It has a new fantastic feel it, a more more glossy hold, giving it a more magazine feel. The inner-contents is, as always, fantastic; from talking about Vintage Jackets in the Manchester store Bags Of Flavour, to their trip to Garbstore's HQ, there is something that will get the attention of any dresser. 

Proper are renowned for having a cool sense of their taste in clothing and music; this is one of the major factors as to why I enjoy reading their magazine as much as I do. In this Issue, my favourite articles have to be 'Great Yarmouth', 'I am just going outside and may need my hat..' and '10 reasons why Simon Cowell might not actually be a twat'.

Christmas Tunes

As we prepare for the once a year festive celebrations, I think I'd share my favourite Christmas songs.

Being the Oasis fan I am, it's understandable that I put this one on. Noel's rendition of Merry Christmas Everybody, the original sung by Slade.




The other Christmas song I chose, is sung by the most amazing being to grace this earth. John Lennon. A hero to many, a peace activist, a normal man. This Christmas song is about War being over, and how it is making lives for children better. A solo Lennon song recognised by many, arguably one of his better ones.

It's Sunday, banging headache from last nights session. Lets see some of my photography.

First picture, the field I used to play football on with my friends behind my house. Believe it or not, this is actually smack bang in the middle of an estate. Managed to get the sunset then did a simple edit on Photoshop.

(Whats The Story) Morning Glory? Had a trip to London a couple of months ago, so thought I'd have to try and do this.

These 2 were done for a Media project last year. Focusing on what we use at home for media. Both of these are arguably some of my favourite pictures that I've taken.

A New Love

I'll be the first to admit, when the whole FC United of Manchester idea came about, I was against it. I remember thinking how could anybody just turn their back on the club they've loved all their life? It wasn't until around 2 years ago I actually started a love for FC. My old man had text me the day before saying, Got tickets for United tomorrow, you game? My buzzing instinct was of course we were off to see my beloved Manchester United,but that day I got bit by the FC bug. When eventually we got to Gigg Lane I thought my old man was winding me up, but no we went through the turnstiles and took our place at the infamous Manchester Road End, throughout the 90 minutes, songs being sung. Songs with the thoughts off death to Glazer (similar to mine), even Manchester United songs. After the match I was thinking to myself "Maybe FC is the right thing for me now", how though? I've been a United fan all my life, my family, all being reds (at this time, cluelessly, I didn't realise a majority of FC fans do still MUFC). Anyway 2 years on and a few United mates of mine are round, and my old man came into the room and said that FC's match against Rochdale was on ESPN. Now for those of you who don't know what FC stand for, were a club who are ANti-modern Football, United fans who have had enough of being own by heartless Americans who plunged our beloved club into debt. So of course, I was amazed we were being shown as it is totally against what we stand for. But, that Friday, the one thing we wanted to happen, did, FC were the talk of the nation.

94 minutes had been played, and although I was 150+ miles away sat in the comfort of the Play Room at my house, I was feeling the FC vibe. You could see what it meant to the FC fans, we were drawing in the FA Cup against a Football League side, but suddenly, one of the most controversial goals of the FA Cup this year occurred. Michael Norton scored a last second winner to put us(FC) into the second round of the FA Cup. After yet another dramatic tie, we drew 1-1 to Brighton putting us into the third round, in the same pool as our Manchester United, the outcome............. Portsmouth at home if we win our replay against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Now, before you point the finger at me, I've been an FC fan for best part of 2+ years now, I haven't latched onto them because of their cup success because that is against what we stand for. I'm still a Manchester fan, I go to as many games as possible still; yes, I do go to the odd Cheltenham game as well. Whenever I get into a debate about FC and United and they ask me "Who do you support?" I simply reply "MUFCUM". 2 United's, 1 love.
